Give A Night supports Give A Day, which is a grassroots Canadian response to the heartbreaking realities of the HIV pandemic.

Give A Night brings together young professionals in the fight against HIV. Come mingle with other young professionals in your industry – whether you’re in the legal, medical, consulting, finance or marketing world and beyond.
There are over 34 million people in the world living with HIV/AIDS. Although extraordinary progress has been made to address the pandemic in recent years, close to 5,000 people die each day from this disease. Causes and solutions to the pandemic are interwoven with many other global social concerns such as extreme poverty, hunger and gender inequity. Nowhere else are the effects of the disease felt more acutely than in Africa.
The Give a Night campaign began five years ago as a social night event to supplement the legal community’s Give a Day campaign, which supports the Stephen Lewis Foundation and Dignitas International in their fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. Conceived by Dr. Jane Philpott, who spent 9 years working in Africa witnessing firsthand the devastation caused by AIDS, the Give a Day campaign challenges each Canadian to recognize World AIDS Day on December 1st by giving one day’s pay to an organization like the Stephen Lewis Foundation or Dignitas International. In support, the Give A Night campaign aims to provide an additional means for young professionals to contribute to the cause while also having a great time with friends in a relaxed and social setting.
Last year, over 550 people from all professional backgrounds attended the event and helped raised over $19,000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation and Dignitas International. This year, the event will take place on Thursday Nov 29th at 8 pm at Cube Nightclub (314 Queen Street West).
