Give A Night is a cocktail party and silent auction that brings together law students, lawyers and other young professionals in the fight against HIV. All proceeds of Give A Night will be donated to the Stephen Lewis Foundation and Dignitas International.

There are 33 million people in the world living with HIV. While extraordinary progress has been made to address the pandemic in recent years, over 5000 people die each day from this infection. Causes and solutions to the pandemic are interwoven with many other global social concerns such as extreme poverty, hunger and gender inequity.

Give A Night supports Give A Day, which is a grassroots Canadian response to the heartbreaking realities of the HIV pandemic. It challenges each Canadian to recognize World AIDS Day on December 1st by giving one day's pay to an organization, like the Stephen Lewis Foundation or Dignitas International, that will use the money well in the fight against HIV.

Last year, Give A Night was attended by 700 young professionals and raised over $16,000. This year, 55 articling students from 18 law firms in Toronto are proud to be involved in organizing Give A Night 2011.
